How many hours do we need?

The first round of portraits and engagement sessions are 4-5 hours long, with elopement packages at 7 and wedding packages at 9. In our experience, a duration of 7 hours is sufficient for most of the day’s activities but is more suited to laid-back events without a lengthy list of activities. For years, our basic wedding packages have been 8 hours long, although we were always rushing towards the end of the day [because let’s face it, it’s rare that a wedding runs on schedule]. So we added an hour extra buffer time to allow for that.

Do you photograph weddings with a second photographer?

About 90% of the wedding and elopements we do involve some kind of an assistant. This comes in handy whenever logistically it’d be impossible to have coverage in two places at once, when the guest list is 200+, or anytime you just want that extra coverage. When requested we can easily fill the need for your wedding or event.

Can I see a full gallery of your work?

YES YES YES. We believe that it’s necessary to be selective about what we choose to share on our social media and website. Not to mention how difficult it is for a company like ours to gather so many photographs for marketing purposes. On request, full wedding galleries may be provided.

Can we meet before the wedding day?

Absolutely. Establishing a solid relationship with our customers is critical to being able to take excellent photographs, so having some form of contact beyond email before booking me as your photographer is necessary. We want to make sure you’re certain that I’m the ideal photographer for you and that you’ll feel at ease having me around on such an important day in your life.

Should we put together a Pinterest board?

We love Pinterest not only because it allows us to search for and download images to replicate, but also because it encourages us to have conversations about any particular concepts. You’re welcome to use it as long as it helps you think through the coverage you need! Just keep in mind that we’ll provide you with a separate information sheet about a month before the event so that you can add whatever relevant facts you may have.

How do we book?

To reserve your date, we simply need a signed contract and 50% non-refundable retainer. If your wedding requires travel, we will also need the expenses paid at the time of booking to ensure travel costs are as quoted. Unfortunately, we cannot hold any dates without the signed contract, retainer, and any travel fees.

Do you charge tax?

Yes! But not for any shoots booked in Montana. Photos are taxed at the normal rate for products dependent on your home address regardless if you receive them digitally or physically in the State of Montana.

What is your payment schedule?

%50 + travel is due at the time of booking and the final balance is due two weeks before the event date.

Do you make custom packages?

Our packages are base rates with the ability to add on extra hours, products, photographers, etc. Most events that we photograph end up with a custom package of some sort.

What is your turnaround time?

It all depends on the season, but in general we try to get the hero shots (a small selection of 10-12 photos) out within a couple days of the event for social media with the rest being delivered within 3-4 weeks.

Who owns the copyright?

While we retain the copyright of the images from your wedding day, my contract gives personal print and media permissions to clients for any non-commercial usage. If you have any concerns about privacy, please let me know.

Will we have access to the Raw Files?

That’s a hard no. All photos are delivered after editing and color grading to match our industry defining style.

What resolution are they delivered in?

We always deliver photographs in the maximum resolution available after processing and cropping. This means that most are 20 megapixels or over. More than enough for most print projects.

How will we receive the photographs?

We have partnered with some of the best print and online gallery services in the business and as such have an online delivery system that gives you links to download .zip files of the event as well as an online gallery that you can reference and share with family/friends. Prints are priced by the provider but you are welcome to order prints elsewhere if you like. (Our partners do an AMAZING job, however so we would highly recommend them.)

Do you travel?

Absolutely! While we do try and focus on the Montana area we love shooting anywhere in the PNW.

Where are you based?

Our current home base is the beautiful city of Missoula, MT though we have connections and partners in every city in Montana.

What are your travel rates?

That generally depends and while we would like to be more specific travel rates are covered for anywhere in the state of Montana.
