Garrhet
Garrhet is the founder of Montana Wedding Photography and an award winning photographer, storyteller, and creative business owner. Born and raised in the city of Butte Montana Garrhet has spent the better part of the last decade telling legacy defining stories throughout the state of Montana.
With photos featured on sites like Forbes, Thought Catalogue, Lifehacker, Buzzfeed, The Hustle, and Storybrand, Garrhet has been featured on some of the most highly trafficked websites in the world, and continues to produce commercial-level photos for brands, couples, and businesses alike.
When he’s not telling stories though the lens of his camera, Garrhet can usually be found writing or exploring the trails in his home city of Missoula Montana with his two sons.

It’s all about Trust & collaboration
We want to make photos that will show you looking fantastic and provide a sense of nostalgia for years to come. The better our collaboration is, the better the end result will be if we can trust one another. We’re going to be trailing you throughout most of your big day so please do your homework, be willing to do a little planning, and compare other photographers before selecting our team.
This is more than a photoshoot
We like to reassure my customers that we’ll be there for them if they need us, but that our photographers go unnoticed when they don’t. If you’re uncomfortable, the photographs are likely to reflect it. We understand how strange it is to be in front of a camera, so we keep our shoot process as laid-back as possible in order to ensure that feel like you and not some preconceived pose from Pinterest.
Love is always in the little details
Since 2014, we’ve been shooting weddings all over Montana. Through that time We’ve had the great pleasure of capturing couples from all around the world in their daily lives, allowing us to contribute to their visual history. The thing that gets us out of bed in the morning is producing photographs that will transport you back to those feelings you had while browsing through your photos in good times and bad.
These are moments that matter
There are generations of connections and more complexity than any one person could ever have. I am more grateful for these relationships in my own life and the greater I understand their significance, the prouder I am to document them in others’ lives. While taking a gorgeous, romantic picture on your wall is wonderful, it’s much more important to me that will mean even more in 20 years than they do today.
Nature is by far the best venue
Our photographers have lived in Montana and shot around the PNW for most of their lives and love being surrounded by mountains, rivers, and lakes. We feel most at home in nature and live to shoot in the Rocky Mountains we call home. The geographical landscape in which we work has had a significant influence on our careers, and we try to do justice to the spaces and locations that we have the privilege of capturing.

Weddings may sometimes be overwhelming, and individuals can become lost in the event’s various components rather than the relationships. While we adore when everything is well planned, nothing compares to people and their natural interactions. Every wedding that includes love is the most beautiful wedding in the world. We believe the best photos don’t need to be staged, just captured.

- A portrait session is a fun and creative 4 hour photo shoot. These work great for engagement sessions done prior to your wedding or even for yearly updates or Christmas cards. We usually recommend these sessions before booking a wedding as they allow you to become comfortable with us as your photographers and helps Garrhet get to know you better as a couple. If you can dream it up, we want to plan it and photograph it.

- Montana is the perfect combination of every adventure imaginable: big, rocky-topped mountains in lush and mossy green forests, waterfalls galore, high-desert environments, and amazing lakes and rivers that make the perfect backdrop. With a backdrop that beautiful, why stress planning a wedding? Our elopement packages are significantly discounted and allows you to plan your day with your love just the way you want to.

- Our base wedding photography package is a perfect all around package providing you with 1 photographer for up to 8 continuous hours capturing all the essential elements of your wedding professionally and creatively. Choosing from the captured images, the photographer will present our edited high resolution photos in a personalized online gallery where you can conveniently view, download and order prints your images.
